RT-Trans doo was founded in 1993, and currently employs a total of 55 people. The company participated in the realization of some of the most prestigious development projects in Serbia, including the construction of the bridges ‘Beska’ and ‘Zezelj’ over the River Danube, ‘Ada’ bridge in Belgrade, the bridge of the Sava river as well as construction on Corridor 10. The Company supports some of the major international corporations, including ALPINE, DSD Construction, STRABAG and TECOZAM. Currently, the Company owns and operates a total of 24 mobile cranes ranging from 20-400 tonnes and 6 units of transport equipment.

To meet the challenges of such demanding projects and clients, the company invested in a LIEBHERR crawler crane, model LR 1300.1 SX, the first of a kind in Serbia.  The new crane is enhanced through Crane Planner software, which enables the calculation of ground pressure distribution and rosette, constant evaluation of the center of gravity, load chart and load curve, erectability and is also equipped with wind speed sensors. Furthermore, operator’s comfort is ensured through an additional access ladder to the rooftop, upgraded brighter LED searchlights, additional adjustable LED searchlights for boom foot, cabin air-conditioner and cabin tilting device hydraulics.   The new crawler crane may also be used for the installation of wind turbines, effectively expanding the company’s range of activities, and it is fuel efficient.

The new machine meets the requirements of several EU directives, expanding the company’s export opportunities to EU markets.  The relevant directives include:

  • Regulation (EU) 2016/1628 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 14 September 2016 on requirements relating to gaseous and particulate pollutant emission limits and type-approval for internal combustion engines for non-road mobile machinery
  • Directive 2006/42/EC on machinery and amending Directive 95/16/EC (recast)
  • Directive 2000/14/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 8 May 2000 on the approximation of the laws of the Member States relating to the noise emission in the environment by equipment for use outdoors

The company received technical assistance from a team of international and local experts, which is provided free-of-charge under the SME Competitiveness Support Programme in Serbia. After the successful verification of its investment project, the company received a15% grant cash-back, funded by the European Union.
