Expanding The Textiles Product Range

The company Konus-S doo was founded in 2004 as the Serbian daughter of the company Konus Konex from Slovernia. The company, which has 50 employees,  produces a wide range of woven products. These include felt products used for insulation, for shoe manufacturing, for filtration as well as garment manufacturing. The company’s fabrics line focuses on fabrics for industrial use, made from artificial yarns. Another important part of the company is the production of filtration products to very high filtration classes. The Konus-S range is rounded off by the production of cleaning material, retailing under the ‘tipitop’ brand. The cleaning range includes various sponges, microfiber rags, special application cloths and metal scrubbers.

The company decided to extend its range of cleaning products for professional use, such as the automotive industry, as well as for its consumer products and invested in a sectional warping machine, suitable for processing all kinds of materials and material combinations, equipped with the latest communication, measuring and control technology. The new machine has a 5% more efficient weaving and up to 30% higher output performance in warp preparation for weaving and guarantees a stable quality output owing to the in-built order management and production data management.

As a result of this investment, the company can expand its exports of products. Due to the modern features, the machine also offers a vastly improved occupational health and safety for the operators.

After the successful project verification, the company received a 15% grant cash-back, funded by the European Union.  With the investment, the company now meets a wide variety of standards, including:

  • Directive 89/654/EEC concerning the minimum safety and health requirements for the workplace.
  • Directive 2012/27/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 25 October 2012 on energy efficiency, amending Directives 2009/125/EC and 2010/30/EU and repealing Directives 2004/8/EC and 2006/32/EC.
