Founded in 2009, NPP Extra Gllas produces glass products mainly for use in buildings (windows, doors, glass walls, etc). The company imports raw glass and processes the glass based on designs and shapes requested by clients with glass thickness ranging from 4mm to 4cm. Depending on the specifications, the company also applies insulation layers and vacuum chambers to the final glass product to clients.
With the help of the Kosovo SME Competitiveness Support Programme, the company invested in the INTERMAC CNC machine (model MASTER ONE C CNC GLASS WORKING CENTER). The new equipment that can carry out a wide range of complex machining operations like milling, grinding and peripheral polishing, boring integrated with the Helix system, surface writing, etc. This type of machinery is the first of its kind in Kosovo, effectively expanding the company’s product range and competitive advantage.
Apart from the commercial advantages, the new machine also ensures the health and safety of the operators of the machine, it minimize waste and energy consumption.
Extra Gllas received free technical assistance to optimize its investment project and a 15% cash-back grant after the successful project verification, funded by the European Union.
