Advanced Medical Diagnostics

The Hospital Royal Imaging Center sh.p.k was founded in April 2019 with the aim of providing high-level medical services to patients in Kosovo. The main focus of the new clinic is on human orthopaedic and neurosurgical health problems.

The new Hospital is operating in a 382 m2 area in the village Preoc, Gracanice, located 5 km far from Prishtina, the capital city of Kosovo. The investment focuses on a new category of medical equipment, which plays a key role in advanced diagnostics of many health problems. 

With the help of the Kosovo SME Competitiveness Support Programme, the company invested in Magnetic resonance (MAGNETOM ESSENZA Tim + Dot system), Computerized Tomography (SOMATOM GO NOW), DEXA (bone densitometry – INUS D DXA and Diagnostic ultrasound (ACUSON NX3 ELITE).

Apart from ensuring high quality medical and diagnostics services to patients, the new equipment also provides high-level occupational safety to staff in the clinic, enable complete flexibility of the workstation while keeping staff perfectly safe from radiation.

The Royal Imaging Center received free technical assistance to optimize its investment project and a 15% cash-back grant after the successful project verification, funded by the European Union. 

With the investment, the company now meets a wide variety of European standards, including:

    • Council Directive 2013/59/Euratom of 5 December 2013 laying down basic safety standards for protection against the dangers arising from exposure to ionizing radiation, and repealing Directives 89/618/Euratom, 90/641/Euratom, 96/29/Euratom, 97/43/Euratom and 2003/122/Euratom;
    • Regulation (EU) 2017/745 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 5 April 2017 on medical devices, amending Directive 2001/83/EC, Regulation (EC) No 178/2002 and Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 and repealing Council Directives 90/385/EEC and 93/42/EEC (Text with EEA relevance.);
    • Directive 2014/30/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 February 2014 on the harmonization of the laws of the Member States relating to electromagnetic compatibility (recast) Text with EEA relevance.
