Empowering THE decorative stone PROCESSING INDUSTRY

Imaxh Mermer Sh.P.K. is a contemporary factory in the processing of natural decorative stones of marble and granite, located in the village of Poslisht in the Prizren region. The company offers a wide range of decorative marble and granit stone products, worked with great care and to a high quality standard. Despite the attention paid to quality, Imaxh Mermer ensures fast product fitting according to modern working standards. The company mainly operates throughout Kosovo’s regions but recently started offering its products beyond the borders, by cooperating with some foreign sales companies, mainly in Germany and Switzerland.

Imaxh Mermer applied for a loan under the Kosovo SME Competitiveness Support Programme to purchase a modern cutting machine for marble and granite. Highly automated, the machine vastly improves health and safety at work, but also enhances product quality and environmental protection, ultimately leading to an increase in the company’s competitiveness. The machine improves the precision of marble and granite cutting, resulting in more beautiful product appearance and less waste. It also generates savings in energy costs. Last but not least, the new machine increases the production capacity.

Imaxh Mermer received free technical assistance to optimize its investment project and a 15% cash-back grant after the successful project verification, funded by the European Union. 

With the investment, the company now meets a wide variety of European standards, including:

• Directive 2006/42/EC on machinery, and amending Directive 95/16/EC (recast);
• Directive 2014/35/EU on the Harmonization of the Laws of Member States relating to Electrical Equipment Designed for Use within Certain Voltage Limits;
• Directive 2014/30/EU on the harmonization of the laws of the Member States relating to electromagnetic compatibility (recast).
