improving health and safety with new automated machines

Fatoni NTP was established in 2000 for the production of metal works related to greenhouses and the construction sector. The company has a good and stable market position and is very well positioned among key suppliers of greenhouses and scaffolding systems. The products are sold to international and local clients. Local clients are mostly agri-businesses. Fatoni NTP is one of the first companies working with greenhouses in Kosovo. Internationally, the Company exports scaffolding systems to the construction sector in Switzerland. The company’s 4,000 m2 production facilities are located 5 km outside of Prizren city.

In 2020, company decided to invest in two new robots for welding in order to increase the quality of the products, as well as in a roll forming machine for scaffolding steps, which will be the only one of its kind in the region.

Fatoni NTP received free technical assistance to optimize its investment project, and, after the successful project verification, a 15% grant cash-back funded by the European Union.

The company improved its Occupational Health and Safety standards, since the equipment is fully automated with integrated occupational safety sensors. The investment also resulted in increased product quality and safety. These improvements have put the company into a leading position in the region and the higher technical standards achieved enable the company to increase its export of scaffolding systems to EU countries.

With the investment, the company now meets a wide variety of European standards, including:

    • Directive 2001/95/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 3 December 2001 on general product safety
    • Directive 2006/42/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 May 2006 on machinery
