PLASTIKA SHPK recycles plastic wastes, processes the waste into granulates and turns these into end products such as foil, thermos foil and stretch foil for agriculture and construction use.  The company creates a remarkably positive effect on the environment, recycling a big amount of plastic waste around Kosovo.  Through the years, the company has developed its business models starting from plastic waste collection, to recycling and lastly to plastic materials production. 

Demand for its services and end products increased substantially, which has encouraged he company to scale-up its plastic waste recycling capacities and ultimately increase its production of materials made from plastic waste. Plastika’s end products are largely exported to South Eastern Europe (SEE) and to EU countries. 

To realise its expansion plans, the company invested in a brand-new plastic waste-recycling machine EREMA INTAREMA 1512 TVEplus Pelletising Plant. The new machine will be used as the primary recycling unit by the company, allowing the company to reap the benefits of lower energy consumption, higher production capacities and advanced technology. The machine ensures efficient use of energy while almost doubling the production capacity of Plastika.

The company received free technical assistance to optimize its investment project and a 15% grant cash-back after the successful project verification, funded by the European Union. 

With the investment, the company now meets a wide variety of European standards, including:

  • Directive 2009/125/on ecodesign requirements for energy-related products
  • Directive 2006/42/EC on machinery
